The Shopmobility Service, a partnership between Redditch Borough Council and Kingfisher Shopping Centre provides mobility scooters, power chairs and wheel chairs to customers wishing to use the Kingfisher Centre and local shops. This service supports independent living with both mental and physical health benefits, whilst working to prevent social exclusion of the elderly and disabled.

To register with Shopmobility, a person must complete a registration form and provide two evidences of identification, at least one of which displays a photograph of the person and at least one of which displays the person’s address.  Information provided will be stored electronically, and registration details will be given to each customer following registration.

A user’s registration information will include details of which items of Shopmobility equipment the user is entitled to hire.

Shopmobility is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. The service is closed on Bank Holidays

Temporary alterations to opening times may be made to accommodate training or to ensure the safe operation of the Shopmobility service.

All loaned equipment must be returned by ten minutes before the time of closing on the day of hire.

Customers may pre-book Shopmobility equipment to be collected from the Shopmobility Centre by telephoning 01527 69922, or emailing shopmobility@redditchbc.gov.uk

Customers requiring assisted shopping must pre-book at least 24 hours in advance by telephoning 01527 69922.  This service has restricted availability, and will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
